Singapore Healthcare: Activity 2
Dear 3EA,
Good work from those who have submitted your work on time. For those few who submitted late, it's better late then never. I'm still waiting for the laggards who have not done their activity ! ASAP!
I enjoy reading all your comments. Keep up the good work! A few of the pictures and comments such as Afiq's and Farhan's ones are interesting. Most of you seem to have a good impression of Singapore's healthcare, describing to me Singapore's healthcare as efficient, accessible and advanced. Are there any flaws with our healthcare or indeed our healthcare is really so superb? The next activity will bring you to discover answers to the above questions.
I'm going to use the Enquiry-based Learning (EBL) to teach Singapore Healthcare in this virtual classroom. This activity is 20% of your CA.
What is EBL? EBL requires:
1. pupils to work in groups
2. use a research-based approach towards learning
3. organise what you've researched on and present the information in a meaningful way.
Our research question for this topic is:
Are Singapore Healthcare policies meeting the needs of the people since the 1980s?
1. I need you to brainstorm at least 5 leading questions that will help you answer this 'big' question. You can look at your textbook for some ideas on crafting the small questions. In other words, what are some information you need to gather before you can answer this research question.
2. I need each of you to post your 5 questions in the CCSS E-learning portal. This is how you do it:
- Log in to the school E-learning portal
- Go to the tab 'Conversation Tools',
- Go to 'Chai Chee Forum',
- Go to the heading 'Sec 3 Social Studies',
- Go to your designated groups to post your questions.
3. The various question words are 'What', 'Why', 'Who', 'Where', 'When', 'How' and so on.
4. After everyone has posted the questions, please discuss among yourselves in the forum which are the 5 questions that will best help you answer the big question. Do all your discussions in the forum. I'll visit the forum to give you my comments on your questions too. Once you've decided on the 5 questions, please put them in your forum post with the heading 'FINAL'.
EVERYONE MUST POST 5 QUESTIONS. I'll be tracking your names through the forum entries.
