5N1:MUHAMMAD AZRI BIN ARIFFIN(24)

During the free period on Thursday afternoon, Michelle, Xiong Cheng and I gathered and shared our thoughts on the celebrations we had. Xiong Cheng told us about his Chinese New Year celebration, on why the Chinese exchange oranges for - good luck and fortune. Not forgetting the lion dance, which scares away the bad spirits. Michelle carried on by talking about the celebration of Christmas, when they exchange gifts and go to the church to pray with their family. And I ended the conversation talking about the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, by visiting relatives and apologising to the elderly for our wrongdoings and forgive each other, and us, children will be given duit raya (token sums of money) from our parents and elders. These celebrations include family gathering, that shows the similarity of the ethnic celebrations. We had fun talking about our different ethnic celebrations, especially when we got to know more about each other races. Therefore, we get to understand each other, regardless of race or religion or beliefs, and at the same time respect each other, thus this builds up the bonding betweeen different ethnic groups.
